Dear ,We're pleased to invite you for the 2021 FATE Business Outlook scheduled to hold virtually Today, January 28th by 10:00am.The speakers at the business outlook will explore and discuss how "the macroeconomic outlook, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) and resilience strategies" can impact businesses in 2021.

The session will be hosted by FATE Foundation Alumni Community and moderated by Max Menkiti, President, FATE Alumni Executive Committee and CEO, Millenium Apartments.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS

Yewande Sadiku

Yewande Sadiku has been Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (“NIPC”), Nigeria’s foremost investment promotion agency, since November 2016.Until October 2016, she was the Executive Director responsible for Stanbic IBTC Group’s Corporate and Investment Banking business, ensuring the realisation of business opportunities in Nigeria’s complex operating environment. She managed key relationships with regulators, and several of Nigeria’s leading corporate and multinational clients. Ms Sadiku was previously Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC’s investment banking business.In a 23-year banking career, Ms Sadiku handled assignments for clients in virtually every sector of the Nigerian economy, providing financial advice on a variety of assignments, while ensuring strict legal and regulatory compliance. She played an active role in the development of the capital market by participating in industry committees and chairing the Rules and Compliance Sub-Committee, which advised SEC on the rules that guide the operation of Nigeria’s Investments and Securities Act for 12 years. She frequently facilitated dialogue between corporate clients and regulators.Ms Sadiku has an interest in bringing formal financing to the Nigerian film industry and raised funding for Half of a Yellow Sun (2014) a full feature film. She was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship for International Leadership in May 2010 and was one of “35 International Women Under 35” featured in the October 2007 edition of World Business Magazine.

Taiwo Oyedele

Taiwo Oyedele joined PwC as an Associate in 2002. He had one of the fastest career progressions of anyone in a Big 4 accounting firm in modern history becoming a partner in under 8 years.He is currently the West Africa Tax Leader and a member of PwC Global Board for Leadership Development. He is also the Chairman of PwC Nigeria’s ethics committee. Taiwo is an author, a public speaker and thought leader on business, governance, tax and economic matters. He is a contributor to the annual doing business report of the World Bank which compares the relative ease of doing business in 190 economies worldwide.Taiwo is a fellow of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative and a member of the Corporate Governance Society Nigeria. He is the Chairman of the Taxation & Fiscal Policy Board of ICAN; member of the Nigeria Taxation Standards Board; Research Director and Fiscal Commissioner of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) Fiscal Policy Roundtable; and member of the ministerial committee on the implementation of Nigeria’s National Tax Policy. He is a member of the ACCA Global Governing Council.  Taiwo is an alumnus of the Gordon Institute of Business Science; London School of Economics; Yale University and Harvard Kennedy School. He is the Founder and President of Impact Africa Foundation and a guest lecturer at the University of Lagos, Babcock University and Lagos Business School.

Dr Ola Brown

Dr Ola Brown is the founder of the Flying Doctors Healthcare Investment Group. The Flying Doctors Healthcare Group invests and operates across the healthcare and wellness value chain in hospital/clinic construction & refurbishment, diagnostics and equipment, health facility management, pharmaceutical retail, drug manufacturing, air ambulance services & logistics and consulting/healthcare technology.Dr. Ola studied medicine and surgery at the Hull York Medical School after which she worked in Acute Medicine in the UK. She then went on to be awarded the Japanese MEXT scholarship which allowed her to further her studies in Tokyo, Japan, the fellowship focused on lab-based research with induced pluripotent stem cells. She is currently completing her Masters degree in Finance and Economic Policy at the University of London.Along with two other directors, Dr Ola runs leading a early stage venture capital firm, Greentree investment company which provides growth capital to some of Africa’s most exciting tech start-up’s. Greentree Investment company has invested in start-up’s in various sectors including fintech, media, SaaS, Agri-tech, manufacturing, ecommerce, health tech and Edutech making it one of West Africa’s leading venture capital firms. The total value of the Greentree portfolio is almost $80m.Dr Ola Brown (Orekunrin) sits on the board of the professional women's network (Lagos Chapter). She leads the Health as a business group at the Nigerian Economics Summit Group (NESG); a think tank. She also facilitates trade between Nigeria, the United States and the UK through her seats on the committee of the British Business Group (Lagos)and the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (Healthcare Section) respectively.
