Here's How to Survive this Fuel Scarcity Phase

It's our first newsletter of the year, and this is us welcoming you to the new year. Happy New Year; we hope you're sailing high despite Nigeria's current challenges. This month, we'll like to discuss coping strategies for the epileptic power supply and the current fuel scarcity situation in Nigeria. As a business owner, it must be difficult to manage yourself and your business with the country's current plight. To avoid getting overwhelmed and throwing in the towel this new year, here are some tips for you:1. Work with a power rationing plan: If your business runs on power consistently, consider organising work when you can power machines for use, after which the generator or power supply is turned off to conserve it.2. Consider alternative sources of power generation: With an influx of battery and solar-powered devices into the Nigerian market, consider investing in some of these alternatives e.g. solar-powered lamps to provide light and battery-powered fans for cooling.3. Outsource: Outsourcing aspects of your business operations could also be an efficient and resourceful strategy to adopt in a fuel scarcity situation. For instance, if you run a business that relies heavily on delivery, you may want to consider outsourcing your products by engaging a reliable person or company to handle this aspect. To find out other coping mechanisms for surviving the fuel scarcity phase as a small business owner in Nigeria, click here.
