Meet the Cohort 4 Incubatees

We are happy to share the journey so far for the Cohort 4 incubatees. The programme started in February 2021 and will run till July 2021.In January 2021, 30 aspiring innovative entrepreneurs were shortlisted from a pool of 809 applications and invited to a 2-day Bootcamp where they learned fundamental enterprise knowledge of the BUILD model, Design Thinking Methodology and Business Pitch Skills. A Business Pitch Competition held on Friday February 19, 2021 marked the final selection stage, the businesses were assessed by expert Jury 

; Vice-Consul Economic Affairs, Netherlands CG Lagos,

; Community Manager; MSME Hub, FATE Foundation and

; Planning and Reporting Manager, Skretting Nigeria and 20 gained admission to the Incubation Programme Cohort 4.Criteria for selection included; Innovative character of the business, the sustainability of the Business model, Growth potential and targetting of the SDGs.We are excited to work with the entrepreneurs in developing their prototypes and building their businesses.Further details about their business can be found by clicking on the link below.

Product Launch Announcement

Contactless Hand washing device from AISWe are so excited for Ahmed Ayinla, Founder of AIS from our Orange Corners (OCN 3) Business Incubation programme who got to present the contactless handwashing devices he designed to the Lagos State Office of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in February 2021. With grant funding provided by the FATE Philanthropy Coalition for COVID-19 (FPCC) Support Fund, Ahmed was able to design and produce 50 contactless handwashing devices which will be used in public schools, markets and health centres to promote sanitation and safe Handwashing particularly in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.In attendance were the Chairman, Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Ajala and Mrs Solape Hammond, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on SDGs.This handover took place at the Ilupeju Primary school were some of the contactless devices have already been placed.

New Cooling Device from Ecotutu

Babajide Oluwase; Founder of Ecotutu and Cohort 3 Incubatee unveiled his new product, a cool-on-the-go box for perishables. This ''ice box'' runs with zero electricity. Using ice cells, the device keeps perishables fresh. The Ice cells can be reused for up to 5 months and does not cause a watery mess. Maanar is now on Campus, Hurray!!!

Olaolu Olaleye; Founder of Maanar and OCN 1 Incubatee has launched a bicycle-sharing service at the University of Ilorin. This service will aid transportation within the campus. Happening this April

Training and Capacity Building SessionsSessions such as Finance Fundamentals (Developing a Budget and cashflow statement, Developing an Income statement and Balance sheet and Making Financial Projections), Marketing and Pricing Strategy and People management will hold this month. These sessions create the right foundation that ensures the growth of successful businesses for our incubatees. The Incubatees will also receive advisory sessions on Goal Setting to guide them on how to achieve business and personal goals in the short, mid to long term and Masterclasses on Product Development strategies and Market testing.Mentorship Induction ProgrammeOCN 4 Mentorship Induction Programme is scheduled to hold this month as well. The mentors (Business experts and professionals from OCN Private partners and FATE Volunteer Mentors) and the mentees(OCN 4 Incubatees) will be put through the expectations, roles, duration, monitoring and evaluation process required for the mentorship programme.
