The Orange Corners Programme has been a great experience.Here, we share highlights of the programme in Nigeria.

The Orange Corners Nigeria programme promotes entrepreneurship in tertiary institutions and among youths between ages 18-35. The programme consists of a 6-month Incubation programme and a Student Ambassadors programme.20 entrepreneurs in industries such as Education, Creatives, Circular Economy, Agriculture and Health have received Business Support in terms of capacity building sessions and funding.The 5 selected Student Ambassadors Comfort Oladeji, Praise Babalola, Adeola Adesunloye, Idris Agbe and Opeyemi Eyitayo are from the University of Lagos, Akoka and the Lagos State University (LASU).

Orange Corners Nigeria LaunchJuly 10, 2019We had the absolute honour of having the Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation; Sigrid Kaag at the Orange Corners Nigeria Launch. The Dutch Ambassador to Nigeria, Marion Kappeyne Van De Coppello cut the ribbon signifying the launch of Orange Corners in Nigeria.

Training & Capacity BuildingJuly 16, 2019 to dateThe Incubatees have received 31 sessions and 102.5 hours of training and capacity building sessions in different subject areas that touched on Business Plan Development, Financial Literacy, Design Thinking, Product Development Strategy, Digital Strategy, etc.

Business Advisory Support The Incubatees also received group and one on one Advisory sessions on topics relevant to business growth and security in Nigeria, such as Finance, Tax and Legal requirements for running a business in Nigeria.

Orange Corners Nigeria Student AmbassadorsSeptember 20, 2019 The Orange Corners Nigeria Student Ambassadors hosted DARE2DREAM at the University of Lagos, Akoka. The DARE2DREAM programme inspires students to be entrepreneurial-minded. Entrepreneurs invited to share their journey were CEO Exotique cakes ; Efua Olumide and Co-founder of Prep class, Olumide Ogunlana. The students had the opportunity to ask questions in the DARE2ASK segment of the programme.

Community Building/Networking EventSeptember 25, 2019.OCN Incubatees & Student Ambassadors attended the 4th FATE Alumni Conference. The theme of the conference was ''Innovation For Scale''. The conference featured Masterclasses, Consulting Clinics, and Exhibitions.

Entrepreneurial VisitsSeptember 13, 2019Orange Corners Nigeria Incubatees and Student Ambassadors learned about Business Operations and Structure during an entrepreneurial visit to Envaccord Nigeria Limited. They were received by  Ibrahim Salau who is a Sustainability Advisor and the Managing Director of Envaccord Nigeria Limited.October 8, 2019The Incubatees had a surprise visit from the Netherlands consulate in Lagos. Consulate General; Jan Van Weijen and his Deputy; Ayinde Soule-Kohndou. They encouraged the Incubatees to remain committed to their businesses.

Industry/sector value chain BasicsSeptember 7. 2019Orange Corners Nigeria Incubatees in the leather business joined other ''leatherpreneurs'' to exhibit their products at the Lagos Leather Fair. The Fair is the largest in West Africa and features Masterclasses to ensure a better understanding of the leather business.

September 19, 2019OCN Incubatee, Oluwaseun Kayode joined other Education stakeholders to honour the meeting of the federal government on Education Interventions.On October 24, 2019, Alimat Tijani attended Edu360, an Education Intervention Programme organised by Union Bank Nigeria. 

October 28, 2019OCN Incubatees had a brainstorming meeting with Director of Metasus; Bert Keesman, members of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) and other stakeholders to ensure a more circular economy in Nigeria.November 1, 2019The Incubatees met with the Managing Director of Lagos Waste Management Authourity (LAWMA), Muyiwa Gbadegesin and the Recycling Managing, LAWMA, Jirinsola Okubanjo to discuss waste management solutions in Lagos State.

November 7, 2019Orange Corners Nigeria Incubatees practice delivering a winning Pitch. This is in preparation for the Orange Corners Innovation Fund Business Pitch Competition happening in December.

Upcoming events

On the 9th of December, 2019, the Incubatees will pitch their businesses to an expert Jury who will determine the winners of the Orange Corners Innovation Fund.
